Strengthening of Hospitals in TWIN cities during Health Emergencies

Dr. Raja Amjad Mahmood Director General, NHEPRN chaired the meeting on 9th March 2020, at the conference room of NHEPRN, NIH Premises, Chak Shahzad, Islamabad for “Strengthening of Hospitals in TWIN cities during Health Emergencies". The meeting was attended by Dr. Muhammad Umer, Vice chancellor Rawalpindi Medical University, RMU, Rawalpindi and Prof. Dr. Tanwir Khaliq, Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University SZABMU, Islamabad along-with the administrative heads of all hospitals from Public, Private including armed forces of Islamabad/Rawalpindi. A detailed presentation was given by Dr. Sabina imran Durrani, Director NHEPRN, in which the following points were discussed in detail like Training of medics/Para medics and community to improve health emergency response and preparedness mechanism in twin cities, Standardization of Training curriculum of different courses like HOPE, BLS, ELS, & MISP, also of SOPs for dealing with health emergencies in all hospitals, to bring private sector hospitals in the loop, development of response force during health emergencies, Development of work plan by all hospitals with emphasis on Mass Casualty Management and regular simulation exercises, GIS Mapping of all Health Care Facilities, and to improve Coordination mechanism among all Health Care Facilities.
